Eradisect Bio-Moth Control provides natural, insecticide free control of both clothes and carpet moths across their entire lifecycle. The Bio-Moth utilising a two-stage action. The first stage involves placing active traps that contain pheromones for the control of males moths, thereby interrupting the moths breeding cycle.

The second stage of control involves releasing tiny parasitic wasps, Trichogramma (T-gramma), into the affected environment. The wasps then lay their own eggs inside the moths’ eggs, thereby restricting the development of the larvae and the moth’s ability to reproduce in its entirety.

What are Trichogramma?

Trichogramma are one of the smallest insects in the world, measuring only about 0.4 millimeters in length which is about the size of a sandgrain. However, do not underestimate their size, as they are extremely integral for ecosystems and agricultural landscapes as natural antagonists of pest species. 

Trichogramma are harmless to both humans and pets, but they are parisites to the eggs of various moth species. Female Trichogramma lay their eggs inside moth eggs. Then, the larvae develop inside of them, ultimately killing the host. This has made Trichogramma a popular choice for a non-toxic solution for moth infestations across the globe, as well as making them a suitable inclusion in integrated pest management programmes.

How to use

Stage 1 
Clothes moth pheromone traps are an effective, eco-friendly solution for managing and reducing infesta-tions of clothes moths in homes and storage areas. These traps utilise synthetic versions of the pheromones produced by female moths to lure male moths, thereby interrupting the breeding cycle and preventing further reproduction. By capturing male clothes moths, these traps help to monitor moth activity and may reduce mating opportunities, supporting the protection of valuable fabrics, carpets and stored clothing from damage caused by clothes moth larvae. Easy to use and non-toxic, clothes moth pheromone traps are an essential tool for maintaining a moth-free environment without relying on harsh chemicals or extensive treatments.

Stage 2
Trichogramma (T-gramma) are tiny parasitic wasps that play a significant role in biological pest control. As natural enemies of many moth species, Trichogramma (T-gramma) wasps are beneficial egg parasitoids. Across the genus, they are known to parasitise the eggs of more than 200 species of moths and butterflies. By laying their eggs inside clothes moth eggs, Trichogramma (T-gramma) wasps prevent the moth eggs from developing into fabric-damaging larvae. This targeted method of pest management uses beneficial insects to control clothes moth populations and can help reduce reliance on chemical pesticides.
